The social hierarchy in Ancient Phoenicia was made up of four classes of people. At the top was the king, who was the divine ruler of the entire kingdom and all its holdings. Below that was the social class of important leaders and the most wealthy, then the middle class of farmers, fishermen, craftsmen, and merchants. The lowest class was the working class of servants and slaves.
